Wie schon im Bericht vorher geschrieben, waren wir ja Ende Mai für ein paar Tage an der Küste von Cornwall, genauer gesagt in Newquay. Dort wohnten wir direkt am Fistral Beach (im Fistral Beach Hotel, Bericht folgt noch). Der Fistral Beach ist extrem beliebt bei Surfern und auch bei Wassertemperaturen von 11 Grad, waren immer dutzend Surfer im Wasser. Strand und Wasser waren extrem sauber und bei der richtigen Außentemperatur auch für mich geeignet ;-).

Am ersten Tag hatten wir leider typisch englisches Wetter, teilweise mit sintflutartigen Schauern. So bummelten wir nur etwas durch die Innenstadt von Newquay (sehr überschaubar) und entspannten uns ein wenig. Folgend zwei Bilder aus Newquay:

Am folgenden Tag fuhren wir dann etwas nördlich von Newquay zu den Bedruthan Steps (Park des National Trust), eine spektakuläre Klippenformation in Cornwall mit einer steilen Treppe zur Bucht (Vorsicht vor den Gezeiten) und einem wunderschönen Wanderweg entlang der Klippen. Hier kann man stundenlang spazieren bzw. wandern gehen und die tolle Aussicht genießen. Am Eingang der Parks lädt ein gemütliches Cafe zum verweilen und stärken ein. Einfach mal die Natur in sich aufnehmen:

Einen weiteren Ausflug unternahmen wir am folgenden Tag dann etwas südlich von Newquay, kurz vor St. Ives, nach Godrevy (auch ein Park des National Trust). Hier auch wieder eine spektakuläre Aussicht, teils dünenartig und nördlich wieder übergehend in eine Steilküste mit Klippenformationen. Zum Teil können hier in den Buchten auch Seehunde beobachtet werden. Mit dem Leuchtturm auf der vorgelagerten Insel, wieder ein wunderschönes Panorama.

Die Natur und Landschaft in Cornwall ist faszinierend und wirklich ein lohnenswertes Reiseziel, es hat uns ein wenig auch an Neuseeland erinnert. Als Tipp, das Fernglas nicht vergessen (ist mir leider passiert).
