Da Pooh geschäftlich in London (Heathrow) zu tun hatte, nutzten wir die Gelegenheit gleich dort im Anschluss ein verlängertes Wochenende in England zu verbringen. Da wir nun schon mehrmals in London waren, wollten wir einmal die Küste von Cornwall besuchen (die Bildergalarie ist schon online). Ich flog also Mitte der Woche meiner Frau nach London mit British Airways “hinterher”.
British Airways gehört ja nicht zu unserem regelmäßigen Portfolio, und bei unserem letzten Flug mit British Airways musste wir eine unfreiwillige Übernachtung in London verbringen (wg. Triebwerksschaden in Dubai). Aber der Flug Hamburg – London (LHR, Heathrow) ist ja auch sehr kurz, da kann kaum was schiefgehen ;-).
Für mich einmal die Gelegenheit die andere Flughafen Lounge in Hamburg zu testen, die sich direkt über der zentralen Sicherheitskontrolle in Hamburg befindet. Leider ist aufgrund des “offenen” Konzeptes die Geräuschkulisse doch recht hoch, dafür hat entschädigt aber der direkte Blick auf das Vorfeld. Die Verpflegung der Lounge ist vergleichbar mit der Ausstattung der Lufthansa Business Lounge.
Der Flug mit British Airways von Hamburg nach London (und auch umgekehrt), war schon aufgrund der Dauer, unspektakulär. Der Service war für die kurze Strecke in Ordnung, die Sitze machten allerdings schon einen sehr abgenutzten Eindruck. Geflogen wurde mit einem Airbus A320 bzw. A319.
Während des Fluges und der Landung in London Heathrow konnte ich ein paar schöne Motive einfangen.
