Day 6 – Saturday
Farewells at the Airport
Saturday morning started with Tristan heading to the airport to say goodbye to friends and fellow exchange students who were already beginning their journey home. We picked him up afterwards and took the scenic coastal road back into the heart of Wellington. Even though the rain kept coming down, the landscape around the city was absolutely stunning—wild, green, and full of character.

Exploring Tristan’s favorite spots
Throughout the day, Tristan showed us some of his favorite hangout spots in Wellington. We visited a game center in the city where we raced each other in virtual cars, followed by a classic arcade full of skill and speed games. With all of us being pretty competitive, things got lively quickly—and we had a blast together.
Of course, a visit to the bouldering gym was a must. Tristan discovered his passion for climbing here in New Zealand and spent countless hours training and challenging himself.

Since we were exploring on foot, we got to see even more of Wellington along the way—quirky corners, colorful murals, and cozy cafés. The weather wasn’t on our side, but the city’s charm still shone through.
Evening reflections and tomorrow’s Road Trip
In the evening, we enjoyed a relaxed dinner together at our hotel. After such a full and fun day, we were all ready to wind down and get some rest. Tomorrow, Sunday, marks the beginning of our road trip toward Auckland.
