We travel the world with open hearts.
There is no place for racism or fascism — not on this planet, and not in our lives.

Dresden-Dakar-Banjul

In March 2026, we will join this incredible journey—driving from Germany to The Gambia, crossing deserts, mountains, and borders, all in the name of adventure and impact. Finally we’ll sell our red Land Rover Discovery in Gambia for a good cause.

New Zealand

After more than 25 years, we had the chance to visit New Zealand once again. Our son spent the past twelve months attending high school there and picked him up – an experience we simply couldn’t miss.

Baltic Sea Circle Rallye

This unique and northernmost rallye in the world spans 7,500 kilometers across 9 countries, encircling the extraordinary Baltic Sea. Join us as we explore the northern hemisphere during this epic winter road trip!

Maroon off-road SUV with roof rack and spare tire on a rocky trail, under a clear blue sky; adventure stickers including 'Adventure Club' on the hood.
Leaving Marrakesh Early We started the day early, knowing that today’s stage would take us over the High Atlas Mountains and deep into southern Morocco. Several rally teams had already mentioned that the route was affected by extensive construction work, so we planned extra time and […]
Colorful Morocco market stall with cone-shaped spice mounds and ornate tilework, glass jars, and patterned decor along a tiled floor.
A Slow Morning and a Strong Breakfast Today was our official rest day from the rally — a welcome break after many hours and about 4.400 kilometers in the car. The slower pace felt good. We allowed ourselves an extra moment to wake up gently and […]
Busy Moroccan street market under a clear blue sky, with clothing stalls on both sides, shoppers browsing, and a tall stone minaret visible in the background.
A Calm Start Into Our First Full Day in Morocco We began the morning with a simple but welcome breakfast at our accommodation — coffee, fresh baguette and a bit of spread. Despite Ramadan, our hosts made sure we had something to start the day with. […]
Red off-road vehicle with a roof rack and spare tire, branded stickers on the hood, parked inside a vehicle service bay during a road trip event.
A Slower Morning Before the Ferry Today allowed for a slightly slower start. Since our meeting time at the ferry port was scheduled for 10:30 a.m., there was no need to get up at our usual 7:00 a.m. Even though our internal rhythm still woke us […]
Red Land Rover SUV with roof rack and spare tire, front view on a paved area under a cloudy sky, mountain backdrop, clear branding of Land Rover.
A Familiar Morning Rhythm We started the day as we now almost routinely do, getting up around 7:00 a.m. This rhythm has quickly become our rally routine. Breakfast was relaxed, even if communication once again required a bit of creativity. English and German weren’t widely spoken, […]

A Relaxed Start After a Good Night We started the morning feeling well‑rested after a very good night in our cozy hotel. The day began calmly: getting up, enjoying breakfast, and preparing for another long stretch on the road. After a quick fuel stop, we set […]
Sunlit park scene with a historic ornate tower and a fountain in the background; a couple wearing sunglasses takes a close selfie on the grassy lawn.
A Warm Night and a Calm Morning in Bern After a somewhat restless night, the day began quietly. The room had stayed unusually warm, as the air conditioning unfortunately wasn’t working — perhaps an early preview of the temperatures waiting for us further south. Even so, […]

The Rally Begins A Morning Above the Mist (Brand‑Baude) We started the day with what felt like a perfect rally morning: bright sunshine above the hills and a soft layer of mist resting in the valley below. From the Brand‑Baude, the view across the ridgelines of […]
Two people wearing Pooh and Viator wearing hoodies stand beside a red Land Rover Defender with a roof rack and spare tire in a residential driveway
With beautiful weather this morning, we set off right on time at 8:00 a.m. from Handewitt. After a warm goodbye from our kids, we joined our “home motorway,” the A7, heading toward Hamburg. We’ve also added an official mascot to the journey. Meet Mr. B‑Bear, who […]
Viator und Pooh from Team Insanire in front of their red Land Rover Discovery 3
The past week was all about finishing touches. With the departure approaching, it was time to organize the last remaining details and bring everything together. Midweek, on Wednesday, we made one final visit to the university hospital for our last scheduled vaccinations. With that appointment completed, […]
Logo of the Dresden-Banjul Organisation (DBO) featuring a camel on wheels with smoke trails, symbolizing a unique journey.
As Team Insanire, we love road trips, rallies, and the freedom of traveling by car. However, the Dresden–Dakar–Banjul Rally is different from most adventures we’ve done before—because this time the journey ends with something very concrete: our red Land Rover Discovery will be auctioned in Gambia, […]
Map showing a route from Dresden through Europe to Gambia.
As the start of the rally draws closer, we’d like to give you an overview of the route as outlined in the Roadbook. For this, we deliberately focus on the African section of the rally, as the first four days up to the ferry to Tanger […]
Tabby cat behind black leather rear seats in a vehicle with a red container and net organizer.
Today was a highly productive day — one of those preparation milestones that really makes everything feel real. We finally have all our rally gear together, which meant we could fully load the Discovery for a complete test run. As expected, everything didn’t fit perfectly on […]
Red off-road vehicle with sponsor decals and open driver door under a metal and glass canopy.
This week was packed with work on the professional side, leaving us with only limited time for rally preparations — but we still managed to check off several important items from our list. eVisa for Mauritania – Successfully Completed One of the most crucial tasks is […]
Person smiling inside a tent, wearing a beige hoodie with tent mesh screen visible.
This week brought a mix of technical fixes, tent equipment testing, and medical preparation — but most importantly, real progress. A New Tent, a New Attempt — and Success at Last Our new tent finally arrived, and despite the persistent winter conditions outside — snow on […]
Partially assembled green tent spread on wooden floor with chairs and piano in background.
Yesterday we attempted a trial setup of our tent — something we absolutely need to get right before entering the Sahara. Because winter is still holding on tightly here, with snow on the ground and temperatures well below comfortable, we had to do the test indoors. […]
Man in gray beanie and red jacket taking a selfie while another person works on a vehicle roof rack.
Today we continued working on the modifications for our red Land Rover Discovery — the one that will carry us all the way to Africa and stay behind in Gambia for a good cause. One of the biggest tasks this weekend was finishing the roof rack […]
Parking lot with two SUVs, one red with open rear door and one black with roof ladder, in front of HF Kompetenz-Zentrum.
With the start of the new year, we’ve officially kicked off preparations for our participation in the Dresden-Dakar-Banjul Rally. This time, our red Land Rover Discovery will not return with us—it will be auctioned in Gambia for a good cause. Therfore we want to make a […]
