Day 15 – 08-03-2025

The morning began in Warsaw with a leisurely breakfast before we set out to explore the city as tourists. The day started cool at 6 degrees, but with bright sunshine and temperatures rising to 16 degrees, it was the first day without winter boots and winter jackets for 15 days 🙂. We strolled along the Royal Route, past magnificent palaces, impressive churches, imposing government buildings, the university, and the presidential palace. There, we were lucky enough to witness the changing of the guard. Our walk ended at the castle, the beginning of the beautiful, clean, and very cozy old town, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We enjoyed coffee and cake in a café in the old town before going back to the car and hitting the road again. Warsaw is absolutely to recommend if you like the combination of big city and old history.

Our goal today was Poznań, so we will be sure to arrive in Hamburg on time tomorrow. Although the distance was about 300 km, driving on the smaller roads with a lot of small towns along the way makes it around five hours of pure driving time. Today, we walked 7 km in Warsaw (about 4 hours) and drove 312 kilometers – we spent a total of 7 hours in the car, including breaks.
