Taking It Slow on Our Final Day

On our last full day in The Gambia, we decided to take things very slowly. After weeks of travel, intense driving days, borders, deserts, and countless impressions, it felt right to enjoy the comfort and calm of our hotel. We spent the day reading, resting, and reflecting on everything we had experienced over the past weeks.

Unfortunately, our stomachs were still not completely back to normal, which meant a few extra visits to the bathroom throughout the day. Still, we focused on resting and giving our bodies the time they clearly needed.

A Final Dinner with Rally Friends

For the evening, we had arranged a final dinner together with Team Aachener Wüstenfüchse and Team Flinke Fenneks at the restaurant Dune Lounge. Three other rally teams joined as well, turning the evening into a relaxed and social gathering.

The restaurant itself was a wonderful choice — an open, green space beneath trees, calm and atmospheric. It felt like a small oasis, far removed from the usual hustle and noise of Gambia, and the perfect setting to end this chapter of the journey.

We shared food, laughter, memories, and stories from the rally — moments that underline how close everyone has grown over the past weeks.

A Gentle End to the Journey

Later that night, we shared a taxi back to the hotel together with Team Flinke Fenneks. It was a warm, peaceful evening and a fitting farewell to The Gambia.

This was our last night here.
Tomorrow evening, we will fly back to Europe — and with that, the journey truly comes to an end.

What remains are memories, friendships, gratitude, and the deep feeling that this rally was something very special.
